There's no question that the original album was a classic. I just
played the second volume. John appears on two tracks. He sang lead
vocals on And So It Goes. As usual, it's a great performance.
John's also listed as singing background vocals on the title
track. There's a photo of the choir. I couldn't find him in it.
Perhaps he and some of the others added vocals later. Another photo
appears to include him with some of the musicians. He's wearing
sunglasses. We see a better photo on the back, among the other
performers.
Does anyone have any more info on his involvement? He didn't play
on these tracks. One biography claimed that RCA wanted him to embrace
country music. This could have revived his career in a big way. But
his views on the environment and religion could have caused problems.
Travis Tritt is one country singer who admitted to being a fan.
I wonder if Charlie Rich ever apologized to John for his shameful
behavior at the CMA Awards. Rich's own background wasn't entirely
country either. Another nominee was former rocker Conway Twitty.
Considering his condition, Rich might have burned the envelope
regardless of who won.

Sincerely,
Darren Thornton

Darren,

for some reason I still get notice when someone posts here. Most of
the people who used this newsgroup gave up on it because of spam and
off topic arguments.

If you are interested in check in on John Denver information from
people who may know, check out Forever-John-Denver or John-Denver-
Forever on Yahoo groups. Both were formed to discuss John, and to
make contact with like minded people. The difference? Forever-John-
Denver is moderated, not to censure, but to keep the spam and garbage
out. It takes about a day to be approved. The other, John-Denver-
Forever has no moderating. I belong to both and do get frustrated
with the junk on J-D-F.

Another place is on Facebook - AspenInOctober - This is a wonderful
group of people many of whom have met in Aspen in October at the
celebrations of John's life.

All three are great places to visit - and we discuss our love for John
and his music, and our lives too.

If I could answer your concerns, I would - but I don't know. I did
enjoy reading your comments - as would others.

Good luck in finding the right John Denver forum for you.

Peggy
